The Opening of Varna Deep Tech Innovation Port will take place on the 17th of October
The main purpose of the initiative is to transform Varna into an attractive center for creation and integration of deep tech innovations. The latter are to help improve the socio-economic development of the Varna region, Bulgaria, and Europe via enhanced collaboration between academics, businesses, startups, youth organizations, local administration, etc.
The targets and activities of “Varna: Deep Tech Innovation Port” match with the “New Innovation Agenda” of the European Union, which was first introduced by the European Commission in July 2022. The strategy aims to boost entrepreneurial capacity and competition by building a network of deep tech innovation hubs in different parts of Europe.
The steps of realization include:
Establish “Varna: Deep Tech Innovation Port” with the inclusion of all stakeholders of interest
- Identify technologically advanced high-growth potential focus points, based on the unique characteristics of the Varna region
- Clarify the benefits to the stakeholders during the innovation transfer via interviews and meetings
- Develop a plan and hold events to popularize the ecosystem with the support of our international partners
- Develop KPIs to monitor the effect of innovations transfer in a 5-year period
- Develop a database of startups for the last 5 years, monitor their current state and ping prospective ones
- Develop a strategy to attract participants and investments in new start-up or scale-up projects, and build an environment for the integration of technological advancements in business
- Use the university research capacity to develop integration projects for innovations
Position Varna as a unique experiment laboratory for testing and validation of high-tech innovations and the creation of start-ups/scale-ups.
